Racing Games [Video Games]

Finally while CK was away on a small break, he came across a gaming shop who had a sale on.

I went over to the Racing Section and found 1 copy of Forza 4. €19.99! Grabbed it and bought it!

After the football last night I turned on the Xbox and set myself an hour of play.

The game looks superb from the outset. For starters I am driving a Citroen city car.

Graphics are jawdroppingly crisp and realistic, game play is excellent (so far).

By the looks of it, it's going to take some time to get the serious cars in the car bank. I don't mind as thats the point of the game.

Anyhow, I will let you (who are interested) know how CK gets on. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

You need to add me as a friend then we could race online (if you have xbox live gold)

Once you do that I can sent you gift cars and you can also join my car club.
Tip:when reaching various levels in the game you will get a choice of free cars, when first beginning, be sure to select the most expensive car.
Later on in the game as your game level goes up you will no longer get free cars so take advantage while you can.

Have went back to Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3

Forza does a good job connecting gamers with it's features, but the driving is like being on ice and that gets old after awhile.

I have not even got into F4 yet, time constraints and my other addictions.

When I was floating around the X360 I dl'd Forza Horizon demo.

Looks pretty good, has one of those annoying GPS voice aids (which can be turned off) luckily enough.

I think it has a free drive area where you can go and just drive through vast miles of tarmac / loose shingle and sand etc.

And you get bonus points for overtaking and sliding around bends etc.

Will I get it? I will have to finish F4 first then decide.

Played that too, but found it to be too much like Test Drive "The Run" which I completed.
Seems like Turn10 enjoys copying other peeps ideas.

It really comes down to which controller you like better.
I like the XBox controller, for racing, due to the {RB} trigger having a wider range of movement.
But there are XBox look-a-like controllers for the PS3.

I do have one of these for the PS3 (not made for the Xbox) that I should use more because it is brilliant for racing.

Got that on day 2 of it's release and have been playing since. Yeah, that first update took me a number of tries because it keep disconnecting. Anyway, the next couple of updates are much smaller.

We should do an online race.
