    VLC Is Free To Download

You’re getting VLC completely FREE because it’s open source.
Open source means the creators and developers working on VLC decided to
make their product open to everyone-absolutely free of charge. That’s
right, VLC is developed by the VideoLAN Project as a free way for everyone to play their videos. Developers can download the latest VLC source code here.

If you open up vlc and click the following , View , Playlist , internet
tab after that just select what your interested in , in my case
Channels.com ... Watch shows , how cool is that!

I never used it, I am a Jet man.

I have heard it plays matroska files [.MKV] which are Bluray based files.

There are more and more .mkv files flying around out there in the ether, you just need a net to catch them.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm a Jetman too, but it's nice for watching TV

Matroska are not bluray files, it's just a less compressed file container. However some bluray player makers have added the ability to play MKV files.
Personally I hate the MKV format because many of my devices will not play them and they are very time consuming to convert.

For example it's nice to get a .AVI movie, put it on a flash drive and then plug it into an XBOX and then watch it on TV. It's nice to not have to burn them to DVD first, which also is time consuming because somethings are just not worth watching twice.
If it's MP4, you can do the same thing with a PLAYSTATION 3.

Same for me - on my computer VLC deals better with AVI file than jet can!

Jet tends to have little jerks in, whereas VLC plays them smoothly.

For Audio, I'm all for Jet still!

The little jerks are probably from lack of computer RAM

I agree - it's inability of the computer rather than of the program. But if I find a program that does an excellent job with less RAM, than I'm a happy film-watcher Laughing
