This is something that has me very excited, because I love building things. At the first of August I'm going to buy the parts and build a motorized bike.

first I'm getting one of these
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Frame: hand-crafted lightweight aluminum cruiser frame
    Pedal brakes
    Fork: high-tensile steel
    Rim: oversized 29"alloy rims
    Saddle: custom comfort
    Dimensions: 75"L x 29.5"W x 47"H
    Price- $149.00 US

I sat on one of these at the store and the thing is huge and it needs to be ,since I am huge too Red Card

    I'm going to buy this

GRUBEE SkyHawk GT5 66cc/80cc Bike Motor Kit
Top speed of 30 mph with standard carbs
    Price - $150.00 US

Then I'm going to build this

I love the look of the old style cruiser bike, and this is probably my favorite model.
Adding the motor really gives it that early bike look.

    Kind of like this

I think with a few custom body parts and some welding here and there it will look just like a vintage motorcycle.
Like I said I'm very excited to build one!

Purchased the bike yesterday and have made some adjustments to it.
Replaced the factory plastic pedals with metal ones.
Removed numerous ugly white stickers which make it look much better.
I will be creating some custom stickers once I have the engine on it. beer

Any idea of the mileage you can get on this? (one tank)
This seems like a good idea & very economical.

I'm told about 100 miles. I haven't reached the engine stage because I rode it most of the summer.
But I will be mounting one on it before the spring.

    Wow, that is cool.
Now the legal side of it in ye old Irelandia.

What kind of vehicle is this?

If it's a motorised bike then you need:
    1. A license
    2. Road Tax
    3. Insurance

The Gov will take always. moto

where I live you don't need any of those things below a certain engine size.
Of course I have a motorcycle license so if I wanted to put a bigger engine on it, then I only need to add lights and license it to make it legal- which I don't plan to do.
