Mother's Finest have been brought on the horizon for me by Dr Maceo!! I like their rocvy funk very much, and have been keeping an eye open for albums of theirs appearing in obtainable places!

This podcast should be delicious!

It's only last week that I realised that Prince and Shelby do one of their songs on the 21nights aftershow book bonus CD. (See, I don't even remember the title of it - that's how often I play it; shame on me)

I think it's Track 1, 'Baby Love' I have to say it's better than Shelby's version.

Shame on me for dissing Shelby.

I realise I have a soft spot of 'Give Me All The Love' as well!

I'm 36 minutes in the podcast, and the DJ just advised me to 'hold on to my seats'! I'm ready!

I was also reminded that P and Tamar covered "Love Changes" on Hotel California - P was definitely a fan

After listening a few times , ( full report on the way Maceo) I can sincerely announce that Prince is (was) or maybe still is a fan of Mother's Finest, I can hear influences left right and centre after digging the podcast!

Pity that Prince did not take a page out of their book and plug in a more funky rock guitar into his songs over the years.

Rocky Funk = Runky

Funky Rock = Fock!

No swearing intended, that's the way it came out...apologies...but frocky, no..no! funny!

'Runky Fock' - now if ever there was something to put on a T-shirt!

On second thoughts, no I don't think I would wear that in public ...
